Employment Opportunity: Community Recreation Coordinator
Full-Time (Temporary-Maternity Replacement)

Applications are invited to fill the position of Community Recreation Coordinator. This is a full-time TEMPORARY-Maternity Replacement position based at the Clarenville Events Centre, for a period of 18 months.

Duties: The Community Recreation Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing inclusive community recreation, active living programs, special events & community development activities for residents in the Town of Clarenville.

Qualifications: The incumbent should have knowledge and experience in the organization and delivery of recreation, sport, and wellness programs. Experience in a municipal environment is considered an asset. Candidates must possess initiative and demonstrate good organizational, analytical, communications and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work independently. Project management skills including budget preparation, grant applications, report writing is required; must be proficient in Microsoft office software. Education in the recreation field would be considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may also be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a recent certificate of conduct, medical certificate, must be bondable and hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
