Economic Plan
In 2024, the Town of Clarenville launched a new 5-year Strategic Economic Plan which has become the blueprint for supporting economic and business growth in the community. The Plan really builds on our brand of Real Life Potential. Please view the Strategic Economic Plan below.
Crafted with input from stakeholders, including groups and organizations, and our many partners, this Plan represents our collective vision for a vibrant and sustainable future.
At its core, the new Economic Plan aims to foster innovation, attract new businesses, and address some of the key social, economic, environmental, and cultural issues by taking a methodical approach and making investments that are balanced.
By focusing on key areas such as investing in infrastructure, addressing available and affordable housing, childcare, tourism, reducing red tape and encouraging business growth, we aim to build a diverse and resilient economy that will be beneficial to taxpayers and the community.
This Plan contains a set of 7 core priorities which are supported by Objectives and Initiatives which will involve establishing partnerships with our neighbours and working collaboratively across our many departments. Our overall goal is to promote the Town of Clarenville as a place where businesses can thrive, and people want to live and raise a family.
While we have taken great steps to identify the key areas that will continue to propel our community forward, there may be instances where we will need to pivot and alter course – our Plan is a living document that can adjust to meet our growing need.
As part of our ongoing monitoring and evaluation process, each year, an Annual Progress Report will be developed and shared with the community. Please view progress reports below.
