Clarenville Regional Arts Association Announces its Formation and Opening of New Art Gallery
Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador – The newly established Clarenville Regional Arts Association (CRAA) is proud to announce its official formation, marking an exciting milestone for the local arts community. As part of its efforts to foster cultural growth and artistic expression in the region, CRAA is also thrilled to unveil the opening of The Gallery, a new art space located in the lobby of the Clarenville Events Centre Theatre. The Gallery will open to the public in early 2025.
The creation of The Gallery is the result of a collaborative partnership between the Clarenville Regional Arts Association and the Town of Clarenville. This vibrant new arts venue will showcase a variety of works by local and regional artists, providing a platform for creative expression and cultural exchange. The Gallery aims to serve as a hub for the community, bringing together artists, art lovers, and visitors to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the area.
The project was made possible with funding from the Arts Infrastructure and Programming Fund provided by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador with space provided by the Town of Clarenville. This generous support has enabled the development of a space where art can be shared and enjoyed by all.
“We are incredibly excited to officially launch the Clarenville Regional Arts Association and The Gallery, which will be an integral part of our growing arts community,” said Jennifer Kaye, Chairperson of the CRAA. “The support from the provincial government, the Town of Clarenville, and our dedicated local artists and volunteers has been invaluable in bringing this vision to life. We look forward to seeing The Gallery become a thriving cultural destination for both residents and visitors.”
“The Town of Clarenville is proud to foster the creation of the new Regional Community Art Galley at the Clarenville Events Centre. This space will provide an important opportunity to support new and emerging artists”, says Mayor John Pickett. “Furthermore”, says the Mayor, “Working in partnership with the Clarenville Regional Arts Association, the new Art Galley strengthens the Town’s commitment to enriching culture and arts in the community”.
The Gallery will provide visibility for the arts in the Clarenville Region, by creating a space where artists, residents, and visitors can enjoy exhibitions and related programming.
The Clarenville Regional Arts Association is committed to supporting the creative economy and enriching the community by providing resources, programs, and initiatives that inspire artistic growth and collaboration across the region.
