Dylan has lived in Clarenville the majority of his life, beginning his early childhood on Cowin Place before moving to Shoal Harbour. Growing up in our town, Dylan developed an appreciation for the value of community spirit, which has guided him throughout his life and will continue in his role on Council.
Family has always been essential to Dylan’s path. His father, Rocky Stringer, dedicated his career to public service for the Town of Clarenville, and was known for his hard work and commitment in public works. His mother, Cavelle Stringer, engages in customer service and social participation through employment at the Clarenville Area Coop and being involved in various social groups. Because of his upbringing, Dylan developed a true understanding of the value of hard work, volunteerism, and community service.
Dylan graduated from Memorial University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He blends his education with his strong connection to community spirit. He works as a Store Manager for GBS Technologies, a family-owned business operating in Atlantic Canada. Supported by the Shriners club during his childhood, Dylan continues to proudly call himself a “Shriner’s Kid.” This gave him a deep understanding of the crucial role that not-for-profit organizations play in our community. Over the following years, he has worked to give back to Clarenville through participating in fundraising efforts as a child, helping friends and neighbours, joining the board of directors of Kelsey’s Legacy, and co-hosting age-friendly technology workshops to help people stay connected and informed in today’s digital society.
Dylan brings this foundation of hard work, compassion, and commitment to his role as Councillor. He is eager to contribute new perspectives and ideas while staying guided by the values ingrained in him by his family and our community. Dylan believes it to be the honour of a lifetime to serve Clarenville and is devoted to ensuring that no one is left out and no one is left behind.
