In the Winter
Naturally blessed, Clarenville is the capital of snow and adventure on the Newfoundland and Labrador’s east coast. Winter is a special time of the year for residents of Clarenville. Once the snow falls, we get outside and play.
Discover Clarenville’s Real Winter Potential!
Our spectacular terrain and spacious trails are perfect for snow season adventure whether you’re skiing, boarding or snowmobiling. Go out for an hour or make a week-long trek on the land with expert guides. We enjoy one of the most fantastic trail systems for snowmobiling in the province. For the winter vacationer, we are located on the Trans-Canada Snowmobile Trail along with hundreds of kilometers of groomed and marked riding trails. Located just 1km West of Clarenville is White Hills Ski Resort. Nestled across 55 acres of ski and board terrain in the majestic hills of the Discovery Region, White Hills Resort has the proud distinction of being called “Eastern Newfoundland’s Winter Playground”. Here you’ll find a number of choice trails waiting for you to explore on skis, snowboard or snowshoes. White Hills offers a variety of downhill trails and glades that reach to over 750 vertical feet. Around the wilderness of White Hill Ski Resort are over 40 Kilometers of the best groomed cross-country ski trails in Eastern Newfoundland known as the Nordic Ski Trails. All cross country trails and loops are marked, interconnected and groomed where and whenever possible. The Nordic Ski Trails features “Harry’s Loop” (3.5 km) around Dark Hole Pond (has lights for night skiing), as well as 5 and 7.5 kilometer loops for an extended journey.

In the Summer
From the first hint of spring through the lazy days of summer, Clarenville is an outdoor playground. You can explore the coast, mountains, woods, rivers and lakes by kayak, hike or bike. Follow your spirit of adventure in Clarenville!
Clarenville is right in the heart of a culturally rich and vibrant region. Our central location is perfect for excursions to historic communities such as Bonavista and Trinity. Each year Clarenville hosts a variety of concerts, festivals, craft fairs and talent shows, including Arts Under The Stars. Immerse yourself in our region’s unique festivals and fairs.

Or enjoy a round of golf. Clarenville is nestled between three of the most spectacular golf courses in our region. Twin Rivers Golf Course 20km west in Port Blandford, Brookside Golf Course 17km east in Hatchet Cove and The View Golf Course 50km North West on the Bonavista Peninsula.

The Town of Clarenville hosts a number of Annual events throughout the year, including our Clarenville Days Celebrations, Canada Day at the Park & our Wintertainment Winter Carnival just to name a few.
