The Town of Clarenville would like to extend a sincere THANK-YOU to the Clarenville Trails Advisory Committee for their work in upgrading the Bare Mountain Trail.
- New trails maps have been designed and installed, along with storyboards and trail safety tips on both Trailhead Kiosks. The North Trailhead Kiosk is located on Manitoba Drive near the Mills, Pittman and Twine Law Office. The South Trailhead is located on Balbo Drive near the Shoal Harbour Causeway.
- In addition to the Trailhead maps and storyboards, you will see on the kiosks; you will also find six (6) “You are Here” maps strategically placed along the trail to provide directional advice during your hike.
- Finally, on each map you will find a scannable QR code that will link you to a mobile app called “All Trails”. This app will allow you to track your route and find your location while on the trail. You can also upload photos of your journey and leave a review for fellow hikers.
We are very pleased and grateful for the new maps and signage, but the Trails Advisory Committee are not done yet. More trail markers will be added over time and similar signage will be added to Rotary Trail next!
In addition to the new signage, the trail has recently seen major upgrades including new stairwells and boardwalks, specifically on the south portion of the trail, leading from the Bare Mountain star to the Shoal Harbour Causeway.
We encourage everyone to get out and explore the Bare Mountain Trail to see these upgrades for yourself!
