John and his wife Holly moved to Clarenville 40 years ago and it was here that he raised his two children, Lori and Michael.
 
In John’s professional career he was a social worker and a manager with Government and Eastern Health for 43 years until his retirement in March 2017.
 
During his time in Clarenville, John has been an active community volunteer with many groups and organizations and in 2017 he was named as one of the 150 faces of Clarenville.
 
He is currently the treasurer of the Random Age-Friendly committee and is a volunteer with the Crest Seniors Transportation service.
 
He has been a member of the Clarenville Town Council for four terms having served on council from 1997-2005, from 2009-2013 and from 2017-2021.
 
On September 28th, with the support of his family, friends and residents of the community his life-long dream of becoming Mayor of this wonderful Town finally became a reality.
 
John looks forward to working with the newly elected Council and residents over the next 4 years.

Paul is a post-secondary educator in Clarenville where he has been with the College of the North Atlantic for 30 years. A lifelong interest in politics, particularly municipal politics, coupled with the encouragement and support of a great community and some great community leaders, were instrumental to Paul standing for a third term on Clarenville’s Council. For Paul, it is truly a privileged opportunity.
 
Paul has been an active participant in Clarenville’s growth. Through his involvement in Council related projects, helping improve community communications with his Our Town Clarenville page, Community Correspondent for CTV, providing opportunities for students, and serving on numerous community Boards and Committees, including The Town’s 70th anniversary, White Hills, Random Age Friendly, 2014 NL Winter Games and St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
 
Paul, supported by his wife, continues to work towards making Clarenville a place to want to live, work and play.
 
Paul holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.
 
Paul and his wife Evelyn, are outdoor enthusiasts enjoying all our region has to offer.
 
Paul is thankful for the support he has received and is looking forward to working with the newly elected Council.

Heber has been a lifelong resident of Clarenville, is married to Carmel Doupe and has 2 children Leah and Andrew.
 
This will be his 6th term on Council. Heber served as Deputy Mayor on Council during the past 4 years. He has served on the Finance Committee of Council for 20 years, the Public Works & Planning Committee for 8 years and the Human Resources Committee for 8 years. He is retired from his career with Service Canada as a Business Expertise Advisor for 34 years.
 
Heber was a member of the 1994 Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games Host Committee, a member of the 1997 Canadian Midget Boys National Softball Championships Host Committee, President of Golf Newfoundland and Labrador 2002, a NL Mission Staff Member for the 2007 Canada Winter Games, Chair of Registration and Results for the 2014 Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games and a member of the 2015 Allan Cup Host Committee.
 
He is currently the Eastern representative for Golf Newfoundland and Labrador Hall of Fame Committee. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, hockey, camping and golf.
 
Heber would like to thank residents for their support and looks forward to working with the newly elected Council over the next 4 years.

Bill was born and raised in Shoal Harbour and has lived in the town of Clarenville for more than 60 years. He is married to Gina Bailey, and has one daughter, Michelle.
 
Bill attended high school at Horwood High and Vocational School, now the CONA, here in Clarenville. He is a Certified Level 4 Claims Adjuster and has 48 years of experience in that field, including extensive Contract Adjusting with EMO’s in NL, NS, NB and Alberta completing Catastrophe Claims. He has owned and operated an Adjusting business in Clarenville for over 40 years.
 
Bill is very active member of the Clarenville community, both personally and professionally. He is a retired member of the Clarenville Fire Department, a previous Vista School Board Trustee, a previous member of the Clarenville Rotary Club and a previous member of Eastern Waste Management. Currently, Bill is the Trail Groomer with the Clarenville Nordic Ski Club and is an avid long-distance walker, skier and hiker.
 
As a Councilor, Bill has served on several committees over his past four (4) terms on Council including Public Works, Recreation, Arts and Beautification Committees. He is also the Chairperson of the “Arts Under the Stars” program.
 
This will be Bill’s fifth (5) Term as a Councillor for the Town of Clarenville.

Keith has lived and worked in Clarenville for the past 27 years with my wife Tina and two children Ryan and Kathleen.
 
He has worked for the past 36 years as a technician with Bell Aliant, currently serving as Union Co-Chair of the company’s Eastern NL Occupational Health and Safety Committee, also representing unionized workers as Clarenville Unit Chair and sitting on the Provincial Executive Board as Eastern Regional Representative with Unifor.
 
This will be his 2nd term on council since being elected in a bi-election in 2019. Since his election in 2019, he has served as Chair of the Recreation and Community Development Committee, and has enjoyed being a part of a group dedicated to improving the health and vitality of our residents.
 
He is both Proud and honoured that the people of Clarenville have, once again, put their trust in him as their representative on Council. He looks forward to working with the newly elected Council for the enrichment of our community.

Deidra is a Business Instructor with College of the North Atlantic and brings to the position a wealth of experience, along with a Diploma in Computer Studies MIS (Co-op), Bachelor of Education (Post-Secondary) and a Bachelor of Business Administration.
 
Community involvement is important to Deidra. She has served as Faculty Advisor for the Clarenville Campus, CNA Enactus Team for the past 15 years. In this role she has worked with her students to help create and deliver programs to the Clarenville area that focused on educating students in financial education, providing entrepreneurship opportunities and implementing projects to meet the social needs of the community.
 
Deidra loves the lifestyle that Clarenville has to offer and enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Barry while taking advantage of the trails for Biking, Snowmobiling, Hiking as well as Boating and Camping.
 
This will be Deidra’s first term on Council.

Donna, her husband David and son Nolan moved to Clarenville from Bonavista in 2007. A daughter Robyn, son in-law Ryan and granddaughter Louise reside in Calgary, AB.
 
Donna has been employed with Eastern Health as a social worker for approximately six years. Prior to this, Donna was employed as a Client Service Officer and Career Development Specialist with Advanced Education and Skills for approximately ten years.
 
Donna has a degree in Social Work from the University of Manitoba, Arts Degree/Criminology Certificate – Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Legal/Executive Administrative Assistant Diploma (Honours) from the Toronto School of Business.
 
Donna is an avid follower of political and current events (locally, nationally and internationally) as well as a passionate advocate for the community of Clarenville.

Donna, husband David and their German Shorthaired Pointer Waylon are avid hikers and lovers of the great outdoors.
 
This will be Donna’s first term on Council.
