Upcoming 75th Anniversary Events

Throughout 2026, look forward to a variety of special events, community celebrations, historical
tributes, and family-friendly activities designed to reflect the people and stories that have shaped Clarenville over the past seven-and-a-half decades.

Our 75th Anniversary celebrations will be woven into events throughout the year including the annual Clarenville Days in July as well as stand alone special celebrations. 

Special events include the return of dory races, concerts, historical walking tours, an anniversary dinner, and more. Check here and our Facebook page for updates. 

Arts Under the Stars - Ches and Frank

All shows are 7 p.m. and as always FREE for all to attend. First up is an evening of Country Classics featuring Ches and Frank and the band.

Arts Under the Stars - Ptarmageddon

The alternative pop rock band Ptarmageddon originally hails from Wabush, Labrador. This entertaining trio performs an upbeat, engaging repertoire that has hints of their Labrador home.
 
Some Information for Those New to Arts Under the Stars:
– Shows always start at 7:00 and run for 90 minutes
– They are ‘all age’ events
– Shows are normally held a Elizabeth Swan Park. If the weather doesn’t cooperate we hold them at the Clarenville Events Center theatre (Blackmore Ave.) Check Facebook for any changes. We also use Voyent Alert. Some signage is also used at the at the intersection to Tilleys Road and Memorial Drive/Blackmore Ave.
– Due to the generous support of sponsors all of our shows are free
– There is some seating in the park, however, a number of our patrons chose to bring lawn chairs with them.

All shows are 7 p.m. and as always FREE for all to attend.

Interactive Storytime with Lil D

Join Lil D at the Community Gardens on Friday, July 10 at 11 a.m. for an Interactive Storytime to celebrate Clarenville’s 75th Anniversary! 
 
This event is aimed at children under the age of seven, however all are welcome. 
 
Sign-up required! The deadline to register is Friday, July 3.

Arts Under the Stars - Random Island Players

After great responses to dramatic productions by the Random Island Academy drama group, they’re featured again with their new play, Snowmaweddin.

Historic Dory Races Return - Registration Now Open!

As part of Clarenville’s 75th Anniversary Celebrations, we’re proud to officially announce the return of one of our community’s most cherished traditions — the Historic Dory Races!
After an absence of 37 years, the sound of oars hitting the water will once again echo across our waters as teams compete for community pride, bragging rights, and great prizes.
 
Race divisions include:
  • Men’s
  • Women’s
  • Co-Ed
  • Youth (15-19 years)
Teams consist of:
  • 2 Rowers
  • 1 Coxswain (Steerer; Directs the boat)
Whether you’re a seasoned rower, a history enthusiast, or simply looking for a great day at the waterfront, this promises to be one of the highlights of our 75th Anniversary year.
 
Come cheer on the competitors, enjoy the festivities, and help us celebrate our past while rowing into our future.

Arts Under the Stars - Noah Hamilton

On July 23, we’ll be featuring Noah Hamilton, a brilliant young musician from Corner Brook. Noah is a fantastic keyboardist, singer and go to musician who has been entertaining west coast audiences for some time. Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs for another great evening at Elizabeth Swan Park!

75th Anniversary Dinner

Join us as we celebrate 75 years of community, memories, and milestones at the Clarenville 75th Anniversary Dinner! Come together with friends, family, and fellow residents for an evening of celebration as we honour Clarenville’s rich history and bright future.

The event will include guest speaker Ross Wiseman, former provincial cabinet minister and speaker of the House of Assembly; a historical video marking the town’s milestones; and musical entertainment and dance with the Justin Martin Band.
