The Bare Mountain Star

December 8, 2019

The Bare Mountain Star has been a community land mark since 1967. The star can be seen each Christmas as far away as the naked man lookout. The star had approximately 75 incandescent bulbs, over the years it has become a challenge to keep these bulbs working.

This year Council decided to give the star a much needed upgrade. We think you will be pleasantly surprised to see the star in a whole new light this year!

A special thank-you to Harbour Electric for installing new multi colour LED lighting on our treasured star! For the first time we can now display the star in any colour!

The LED lighting upgrade also is much more energy efficient. The star was approximately 3000 Watts, it is now only 350 Watts!
